Spoke to a person who imports pharmacy items from China into S.E. Asia. He said he has constant issues with product substitution. He's forever sending some to laboratories to make sure he's getting what he pays for.
When he returns the product and bills them for the lab work they get offended and act as if they're as pure as the driven snow. He diplomatically points out that he can place his orders elsewhere and all of a sudden they're sucking up to him. The orders are ok for a few months and then it all starts again.
Apparently that's how you do business in China. If you let them away with it because you're not paying attention, then that's ok.
I guess the big companies, where quality control is paramount, won't be risking their product or name by dealing with some underhanded companies in China.
