Doomtrader, from experience with Beach, the larger Farm-in partner is usually less than expeditious with information, as they are used to just putting it all in the quarterlys. So I am not surprised that CTP is finding the information flow from Santos a bit slow.
I think it worth remembering that a large amount of the seismic is probably only being finished now, so hopefully info will start to flow to CTP which should include possible drilling locations etc.
After again reading your earlier post about the Pre-Salt play Doomtrader. I keep thinking of CTP as sitting on a massive system that was basically untested until Mt Kitty. No matter what, the well is a technical success. CTP has proven the Pre-Salt play is viable... The big difference is unlike all the African plays where you have lots of small companies holding small tenements with big farm-in partners, CTP controls the whole System to varying degrees of % ownership. Its like PVD having 30%-100% of all the offshore acreage in Morocco.
Anyway, cheers also for your response to my post. It is indeed quite ironic that Santos farmed back into tenements they dropped. Although they have been doing the same thing in the Cooper Basin over the past couple of years too. That makes sense about the number of exploration wells in the Amadeus. Great to hear I am not alone in my thoughts regarding Johnston West. A shame they could not include the structure in the recent 3D seismic of the Surprise field. Only 8kms away from it.
Very interesting point regarding Mt Kitty and the results to date. Hopefully CTP can give us an update soon on when Santos will return to the structure.
Lastly, very much agree about it being fun to speculate.
