some drugs and machines may assist, but best to aim to be free of them, imo.

here is a good one to consider:

"Anxiety is the beginning of conscience, which is the parent of the soul but is not compatible with innocence."

there is an innocence associated with birth, but that is an ignorant innocence, because it is, obviously, easily eroded, or washed away, by other latent factors.
so consider an innocence that is not ignorant.

if we look back (despite any abuse or beatings), we can all see the relative joy and blissfulness associated with childhood.
what went wrong?
what can we do to get back there?
