As I say, I hope I'm wrong this time around. They obviously hold a substantial holding for long term purposes but at the same time they DO PLAY THE GAME TO MAKE SOME QUICK BUCKS ON THE SIDELINE?. I only hold a few stocks but have come accross these guys buying up and selling off on a continual basis (this is my observation of the past number of years irt some of the particular stocks that I hold or held)in a short space of time - over and over and over. In the process these particular stock/s gradually depleted in SP only then to be followed by a "Change in substantial holding" where their holding had declined.
I'm not an expert in how they play these games. All I can say is that CS was constantly around when some of these stocks got hammered. I don't see CS as an entity who buy into a stock purely for investment purpose but also make quick bucks on the sideline. In this instance, it might well be a case that they want to increase their investment holding. Time will tell.
Personally I don't pay any value to these guys buying up because they could play it anyway they like. Pretty much like Merryl Lynch.
