Try trading one share as a retail trader on commsec etrade etc and see what happens. I am sure you have been around long enough as well. One share at $500 commsec will let you but not one share at 3c.
It is illegal to attempt to manipulate the market. A person would be very naive to believe placing a one share trades using HFT or otherwise, is done for any other reason.
I simply dont believe amy retail trader can trade one share. In fact commsec etc wont permit it stating it isnt a tradeable parcel.
Brokers and funds can do what they like without such restrictions and do...often.
