Hi Mike, my understanding of the new law is that the required participation for industrial minerals will probably be 5%, and for oil and gas it will be 25% - which accords with your quote.
As UniversalTrader has pointed out, it is quite unlikely that the law will be retrospective, (since such a change would clearly constrain future investment in the country) but, even if it were, would 5% make any real difference to SYR?
So any impact on SYR would be low, and the likelihood of it happening at all, is also low. Good to raise the point, but if that's the worst of their problems, we're in great shape.
