He may have "invented" it, not knowing that the same test and learn methodologies are used right around the world. But he certainly wasn't the first.
Traditionally Test and Learn is based on the scientific method. Experimental design -> Test -> Results, repeat! I don't know how strictly they adhere to it. I certainly wouldn't base my investment on it, unless there was a clear indication that they do it better than anyone else in the world and in any case, if they did, they would be reflected in the results. Results are good so I'd be included to say they are quite astute at their test and learn methodology.
