Not sure where you get your opinion from but the schools my children go to it is a multicultural school. Also I have a child in kindergarden. And both these schools at every religious occasion be it easter or christmas etc they make it a priority to celebrate these events regardless of the religious persuasion of the pupils.

I have many other friends etc who have kids in schools and no school have I been aware of has been afraid to celebrate religious festivities out of any sensitivity of the students religion. Nor do I believe for a second any school in Australia cares much about any sensitivities of a particular religion. They teach as a matter of principle they do not factor in religion.

Wayward1: Many people argue various positions if they can benefit from claiming one fact or another. For islam to be political and have it a role in global politics there needs to be islamic parties in power in the world and there are not too many. If you know anything about the history of islam you would understand that all islamic states thoughout history have all been run in a very secular manner. If you think about the functions of a government not too many departments have anything to do with religion about them. Also many highly regarding scholars in the islamic tradition spanning more than a thousand years have never been shy about tackling opinions which they oppose. They have never condemned such opinions many examples of this are regarding the way the muslims handled greek manuscripts which were clearly against the teaching of islam with regard to the various gods etc however they did not burn these manuscripts instead they studied them and wrote there own books describing these beliefs.
