How can you be surprised? Have you ever seen Uruguay play football prior to this morning's game? It came as absolutely no surprise to me.

As I have been banging on about for a while now, there is no dirtier more unsportsmanlike outfit in world sport than the Uruguay men's football team.

Every time they go out onto the field they bring the game into disrepute.

I've also mentioned previously they are a protected species both as far as FIFA and the refereeing are concerned.

We can only hope that Colombia does us and the wider world a favour by knocking them out of the competition in the Round of 16, but it will require a miracle.
