Some hopes Lani62! After endless demands from all angles, the PWC forensic audit and ERM investigations have revealed virtually nothing. The sinister reply to Wharf shows their intentions-they are obviously frightened silly for an undisclosed reason. Regardless of possible horrors being exposed, Australian authority, mangement and justice has got to learn to tell the truth. Keeping it under wraps and pretending nothing is wrong gets more and more actors onto the stage, until eventually the whole lot is corrupted, and nobody, inside or outside the country will trust anything or anyone. When trust dries up, so does investment and trade, including intellectual exchange.
In the UK, scandles nearly always surface, and are "blown out of the water", like a WW2 German U-boat. Our legal system and regulation is exceedingly correct-you can't touch High Court Judges, and legal firms and (regulated) brokerages have to behave or depart. Occationally not everything goes according to plan, but when we see such corruption in a supposedly civilized country like Australia, then that lot is demoted to the lowest level catalogue. I don't have to spell out who is included in that collection, but we would never have beleived that the "Down unders" would also have joined up.
Have you ever wondered how our potty little Islands, and London in particular, have such surprising influence and wealth? Because the system can be TRUSTED!
In the face of the unbeleivable capers and silence over the EGO/ERM/Wharf affair, the truth must come out, and there is one authority who can ultimately force it-us, the INVESTORS. Yes, EGO cum ERM, you have got OUR MONEY, tens of millions of it, we trusted you with it, and now half the World want to know what has happened to it. You have had months to explain, and only a few cheep-cheeps have emerged. Why the sinister reply? And why, why and why? For the sake of your country's reputation, tell the truth now. You might get your botty smacked, but that wuold be nothing compared to the thrashing you'll get when the truth emerges through, most likely, a future whistleblower.
The EGO affair is not the only mystery. All other small Eupean investing companies in this field have given up trying to get anywhere with the corruption, swallowed their losses and gone elsewhere, some to Africa, I have heard. Doesn't that tell you something?
