A very useful chart and thank you for sharing with us all. I don't want to be a stickler, but want to clarify that your charting terminology was not accurate, but your interpretation of it is!! What you may have meant to say (?) is that the chart represents a Symmetrical Triangle or Pennant formation (not an "Ascending Triangle or Flag" as described). In any case, both the Symmetrical Triangle and Pennant formations are considered to be continuation patterns - they signal a period of consolidation in a trend, often followed by a resumption of the prior trend. But remember anything can happen! A break below the lower trend line is obviously a bearish sign and any break above is bullish and carries more conviction if accompanied by an increase in volume.
