Hingdog, you and seer flatter me no end! Drawing comparisons between myself and one of Australia's foremost intellectuals and most respected journalists is a compliment I would never have expected! Blush! Blush!
Although there are many matters on which David Marr and I concur, there are many others where our views are poles apart - HE holds Tony Abbott in much higher regard than I do. As for our powers of expression, that's like comparing Buddy Franklin to Bob the Builder.
Whereas Marr has done most of his learning from studying, reading and publishing; most of my learning has come from assisting young people, their families and communities while improving education systems to enable others to do likewise - enriched with self-funded travel through many countries and of course my own life experiences such as delivering cakes to café owners in the Melbourne CBD 40 years ago.
