Good find Toby, some interesting stuff in there, although most of it is already known, but it was a good summation, except for the one bit where he mentions Silex were selling Solar Systems? he got that dead wrong in my opinion, he really needs to read the release on the 30th Jun again, Silex never said they were selling Solar Systems, they did say they might sell Translucent depending on offers and they did say they were closing down Chronologic.
But not once in that release did they mention selling Solar Systems, I believe this is because Silex want to trim down to just being an Energy company, I believe Silex would like a similar deal to the GE one , where they get paid upfronts and then royalties.

One interesting aspect about Silex that is rarely mentioned is that because all of it's inputs are much cheaper i.e. labor, electricity, better efficiency, cheaper to build, then all of that put together means that the product produced is also much cheaper, but lets take that one step further, other Uranium enrichment providers stop recovering the Uranium from the natural grade Uranium made into UF6 once they reach a certain point, they do this because they have reached a point where it is the most economical point, to continue on would cost them a lot of money.
When they do continue enriching (this is what is called underfeeding) the costs of doing so starts to climb dramatically, this is why the tails at some sites have grown, because up until now it has been uneconomical, but we do know that the laser enrichment process can capture just about as much Uranium and enrich it as what was recovered in the very first enrichment process, and for much less than the competitors can, so I see where they could continue the enrichment process until almost all of the Uranium has been captured, that could mean that GLE may get up to TWICE the amount of enriched Uranium from the same amount of feedstock as their competitors.

I want to point out that keeping Solar Systems is absolutely necessary to Silex IMHO, because once they have another income source, it negates any effort by the US to try and delay the use of the Silex enrichment technology until such times as our backs are up against the wall, without any income whatsoever, that is when they just walk in and pick up the pieces of the company for peanuts, I have seen this done before to a company called Metalstorm it is a good example of how the US operate, the US controlled just when Metalstorm could sell any product by what is known as Technology Readiness Level (TRL) they just held back on them until Metalstorm went broke, but Metalstorm Inc still lives on in the US and they will end up with all of the IP, just one platform of Metalstorm tech alone would have to be worth many billions of dollars, it is called Mach 5/50, google that along with science and DSTO the technology was proven here in Australia.
Mach 5/50 is a much cheaper version of the Rail Gun tech, but it doesn't need every bit of the power from a ships engine to fire it, it can be mounted on a light armored vehicle, that alone would be worth billions, it isn't quite as fast as the rail gun but close to it and it is light , portable, and cheap and it doesn't require a huge power source to drive it.
Don't let this same fate befall Silex, because if the US think they can get away with it they will do it.
