Brokers favourite, crossed trade is when the broker has a buyer and a seller for the same amount - the broker is often one side of the trade - so it doesn't go through the stock exchange. Broker gets the fees, but doesn't have to pay the asx - though it is a legal trade and the asx must be notified.
