My 911 thing has held up so far for the SPX but not the DJIA. When I first saw the three cycle lines (see chart below) converge on a 4 trading day period I got a little bit excited. I admit that during those few days I even took my Motorola tablet to bed with me so that I could check the US action through the night. What made it seem like an even bigger no brainer was the fact that the SPX was approaching a level equal to 1.618 x the entire bull market of 10/10/2002 to 11/10/2007. When the SPX closed right on that 1.618 level on the last cycle line on July 1st I was convinced that I had nailed. I was disappointed, no wait, I was shattered when 2 days later the SPX popped up just one more time on July 3rd....I should say that I WAS shattered until SanFelipe pointed out to me the following day that THE new high for the SPX was 911 points above the 4th Oct 2011 low. That correction in 2011 was the biggest in this bull market and produced the most meaningful low since the GFC low in 2009..... Hi 5 for SanFelipe and the theory of 911.........

But the DJIA had not reached any such meaningful high in regards to price as the SPX had and since then the DJIA has continued to make higher highs whilst the SPX high of July 3rd still stands. I thought I would take a look at the DJIA this afternoon to see if I could see any meaningful level approaching. There is a fibonacci thing approaching....sort of. If the DJIA can put on just shy of 16 more lousy points then it will have reached a level equal to 2 x 0.764 x the 2002 to 2007 bull market. The DJIA rose 7000.61 points from 10/10/2002 to 11/10/2007. 2 x 0.764 x 7000.61= 10696.93 points. So far the DJIA since the GFC low has risen 10681.61 points.....15.32 points to go. We have that Armstrong turn this week. I know that both Voltaire and Chris Ford have had that date in mind for a top and that would be a nice convergence of price and time for the DJIA and a fairy tale ending to the bull market....should it work out that way.....
