    Look at Iran- when it was Persia under the Shah it was the jewel of the Middle East.
    However, the "peasants" felt hard done by and turned to their form of communism, a radical form of Islam ruled by mullahs and ayattolah's with AK47's.
    Their stance was softening considerably, but recent events in the ME obviously affected their vote and the last election drove them into a "hard-line" form of outlook once again.
    Maybe all these things spin around in cycles, and what goes up comes down & vice versa.........something like the sharemarket, lol.
    Time will tell, but the near future doesnt bode well.
