Granted over the last couple of days the level of shorting on FMG has been roughly comparable to AGO.

When you look at the 3mths though its markedly different. Over the last three months the level of shorts in AGO has increased over 3% gross whereas just over 1% for FMG. Over the 12 months FMG has been roughly flat from about 6% to about 7%. AGO has increased from just over 4% to just under 13%. In relative term that is a larger rise with increased sell side pressure for far longer.

In absolute terms in the level of shorting there is no comparison between AGO and FMG. AGO has more then twice its comparable level of issued capital shorted compared to FMG. MGX level of shorting is less negligible at about 1.5% of issued capital.

The comparison was between MGX and AGO. Comparable companies on sales volume, costs, average FE grade of sales, and prices received for their product.
