Dig out the resources Transport the stuff Generate the value added product (eg:steel) Build the buildings Provide the services and products Consume the products and services
Now, where does the Aussie market sit right now in this cycle of feeding Asia?
Where does the US economy sit in this cycle?
Let me give you a clue - it isn't digging the stuff out of the ground.
It isn the value added services - the infromation economy, this cames later, as wealth is built in developing countries. Chips, computers, software, services, information, movies, news, music and the list goes on. The US runs these industries with content.
Australia is at the front of this expansion, unfortunately our information technology sector isn't up to the likes of Intel, Motorola, Microsoft, Disney, News Corp, the Telcos and so on.
Digest that.
