I dont understand why people bother commenting on HotCopper about a stock if they are incapable of even reading a company announcement without asking a stupid question like "Any guesses about announcement.."

My guess, is that the announcement will be a lot more substantial than what anyone is thinking...and is likely to include either:

a) Santos is pulling out

b) Santos is staying in and also going into JV on Surprise East and is keeping its overall share in holdings at 70% (all including Surprise East) and will continue to provide $0 cash to CTP, but will fund Surprise East drilling.
