    RBRiddick, Do you suppose then that when making the vow Jephthah was expecting it would be an animal that would be the first to greet him?
    Would he ask Jehovah to bless him for a human sacrifice in violation of Jehovah's Law?
    It would be an insult to Jehovah, a disgusting thing in violation of his law, to make a literal human sacrifice. He strictly commanded Israel:
    (Deuteronomy 18:9-12) “When you have entered into the land that Jehovah your God is giving you, you must not learn to imitate the detestable practices of those nations. There should not be found in you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire, ......... For whoever does these things is detestable to Jehovah, and on account of these detestable practices Jehovah your God is driving them away from before you.
