What simplistic nonsense. What evidence is there that the broader population, unfortunate enough to need assistance from their fellow Australians for a period, abuses the meagre amount given to them?

How utterly patronising of you to think you should have the right to dictate to others how they should budget their money?
What on earth makes you suggest that other than a tiny proportion of the benefit receiving population waste any of it?
Most of them are struggling to just make their electricity and rent payments.

The income management that has been used to good effect in remote aboriginal territories is - unless you can provide evidence to the contrary - not required more generally and should not be used just to make people like you feel superior to those in more difficult circumstances.

Yes, there was massive abuse of taxpayer funds in some aboriginal communities where it was all going on the grog whilst families did not have enough to eat. That is no reason to inflict such a program on ordinary, sensible Australians who might be caring for a disabled child, a demented parent, or be out of work due to retrenchment or simply lack of available employment.

To suggest that such people's main purpose in life is to waste their benefit on massive amounts of grog, or the pokies, is simply insulting. Who knows? You might one day find yourself also in a position where you need help from your fellow Australians.
