I don't agree that the Atomo device (with M&G) would make the Philips device look old-fashioned.
For starters they are aimed at completely different segment of of the POC markets.
There are also a number of difference features the Philips device has that the Atomo does not offer.
- Multiplexing
- Quantitative results rather than a discrete positive/negaitve.
- The ability to modulate the temperature the test it being performed at.
- Integrated connectivity for linking in to electronic medical records

To be honest, it's comparing apple and oranges. There's a place for both in the market as they are targeting different areas, even within the troponin space.
