I overcomplicated this earlier post and made an error in applying the JORC.
Proven ore reserves are supposed to take into account dilution and treatment losses. This means the grades quoted in JORC reserves should either equal or be less than recovered grades. Be aware that ore dilution can be difficult to estimate both in drill results and in the pit. The onus is on the chief geo to have enough nous to predict actual ore dilution accurately.
