The government does'nt own any of Richlands assets they only take 50% of the gemstones that are mined nothing else. Ask yourself if it was only Tanzanite that the government were interested in taking a share of then why would they be involved in talks over Graphite.

The Mining Act 2010 passed by the Tanzanian Parliament on April 23rd will increase royalties on minerals mined from 3 percent to 4 percent. The bill also requires that all mining companies are listed on the Dar es Salaam stock exchange or DSE, where local Tanzanians can buy shares in the companies. (Dar es Salaam is Tanzania's largest city with a population of well over 2 million people.) The bill also states that the Tanzanian government will own a stake in all future mining projects and that in the future no mining licenses will be issued to foreign firms.
