yeah the shorting scenario is a bit far fetched, personally can't get my head around it BUT your BB did say the fall was exacerbated by Hedge Fund [snake] Activity and Hedge Funds are Institutions as per placemernt getters
so might I suggest that placement still being in sophisticated hands could be seen as clutching at straws?
or maybe in the spirit  of village idiot 'jokes' that you could be chewing on a straw like a rustic,hillbilly,  a ma and pa kettle investor.
