We are all entitled to our view of what kind of society is best.
A "leftie" is no less an Australian than a "rightie".
The Liberal party was called that for a reason. It has become more conservative but that may change.
As for burning flags, heaven help us when we become like the US where it is my country, right or wrong. If you believe your country is wrong then say so, and if burning the flag is a way of gaining attention, that is fine with me.
Why doesn't JH stop it? Because he sees it as a way of expressing dissent. If effigies of him were burnt, he wouldn't mind. Far better that than a repressive country where you would be taken out and shot for speaking against the government view.
