There is a huge difference between Alaska and The Ukraine. Alaska was sold to the USA, whilst The Ukraine is an independent State. When it was invaded by the thuggish Soviet Union in the 1930's, millions of its population in the Russification period in 1932/33 (reference Wikipedia - History of Ukraine), were starved to death. So is it any wonder that the Ukrainians want nothing to do with Mother Russia, especially one under the iron fist of an ex KGB thug.
