Darren - well made post.
The atmosphere in Melbourne last week and particularly Saturday was amazing and the game is better for it. The game was sensational and stories abound of how it was viewed in public and private venues. It appears that everybody was watching and apart from Swans and Eagles supporters (and of course Algen) the vast majority were barracking for the Tigers.
Where I was the day was hilarious, with a bunch of crazy Tiger supporters (plus my wife who is Welsh and finds it all bemusing) and a couple of Hawks who went troppo with us when we finally won. The last minute marks, Dusty's incredible repeat performance in winning a game with a one-on-one when Richards fell over, Goodes spilling a potential match winning mark and getting caught in possession, the heroics of Rance, It had it all.
We all know that the Swans didn't have their best team in but that didn't make the slightest difference. It is was it is - as the cliche goes. Radio, TV and the written media can't get enough of it and it's just a feel good story that hardly anybody isn't enjoying.
