I am a bit (actually very) skeptical of that graph. The green line shows the mean temp for 1995. Why not 1850 or 1900 or 1950? Was the year 1995 plucked out of a hat or some other dark place? I don't think so. If that green line was plotted for 1996, just one year later, every year until now would be made to look a lot hotter. I would have been more satisfied if the green line represented an average mean temperature for a period of time. Say 1900-1950. Since 1995, how many years have broken heat records and how many have been record low temp years. Low temps affect average temps just as much as high temps. It's the average that is the problem and not the peaks and troughs. Also the time frame of that chart is very short for something that is going to play out over centuries. I could go on a lot more about how misrepresentative that chart is but I've run out of time.
Cheers
