Fremantle were dissappointing. I did not have high expectations we would win but was hoping for the best anyway. Will be very hard to make the gf from here and the players look very tired.

A couple of points from what I saw. Firstly, the team looked pretty poor to me on paper before the game. I would never have played Taberner. His last couple of games have been good but the other games have been very poor. His problem is his ground skills are very poor and if he doesn't mark it he gives us nothing. We are a man down and that's what happened. Picked on a wet day against the team that finished first? Stephen Hill needs to step up. He tends to only play well when we are winning. It is about time he played a good game when the chips are down. Silvagni gives his all, and was okay yesterday, but to me he is just a good wafl footballer. Zac Clarke is another who must be getting close to being dropped- very inconsistent.

I think Lyon erred significantly in player selection for a soaked ground. I would have found room for Matt Deboer and Clancee Pearce, especially in the wet against a team full of midfielders.

The upside? We should get Mcpharlin back (Thank God!!). Deboer had 35 touches for Peel last week and has had a week off. Clancee had 35 and 20 in a half for Peel and has had a week off and Suban should be over his ankle. All would be very handy, and rested, players for what I think will be a game against Port. I would drop Taberner, Crozier and Silvagni.
