Tissue Mitral Valves

Tissue valves have a significant advantage over mechanical valves because the patient does not have to take long-term blood thinners. However, most tissue valves have a limited life, with standard tissue valves usually lasting an average of about 15 years. Tissue valves are made from biological tissue, such as from pig heart valves or cow pericardium (the tissue covering the outside of the heart).

This information is from the Cedar Sinai Web site, fifteen years being an average, some last 20. I post this for a bit of balance. According to your mate 7 to 10 years that gives an average of 8.5 years. I will reiterate that I am a long term holder of AHZ and a strong believer in there technology. I trust that is sticking to the topic enough for you. And for someone as opinionated as your self on this thread, don't be so sensitive, balance is good for all forums. No one is slapping anybody in the face, That's coming from a long term holder. Simply because you post an awful lot, doesn't give you an exclusive opinion.
