The aim was for a regime change that did not eventuate, thus the war was lost. Simple.

It went down in history as the most meaningless war in, and history is set to repeat.

This war can last as long as the Iraq/Iran war - eight years.

The Iraqi's have 20 odd million inhabitants whereby five million will be capable to fight if the war is degenerated into urban warfare.

The best thing the yanks should do is drop a nuke, because it is going to be messy and casualties a plenty on both sides.

If the end result is the same as in Vietnam, I hate to think of the consequences just to get the price of oil down. Irresponsible, just irresponsible.
