Are you sure you were living on Planet Earth when the thugs of the Middle East, Saddam Hussein and Gaddafi were holding sway with the ruthless use of power. Hussein murdered millions of people with, from Wilkepdia :
- his reckless wars against Iran, with an estimated death toll of an estimated half a million Iraqi and Iranian soldiers, and equivalent number of civilians '
- his unprovoked invasion of Kuwait leading to untold number of deaths until he was defeated by the American troops sent by Bush snr;
- the draining of the Marshes in his vindictive pursuit of the local populace - the Maʻdān, resulting in a humanitarian and environmental catastrophe.
And Gaddafi was no saint either, from News.com.au:

- and the murder of many innocent people in the, Gaddafi instigated, notorious Pan Am Flight 103 at Lockerbie killing 243 passengers and 16 crew.
Oh yes, according to your stricture, Hussein and Gaddafi were wonderful leaders, almost heavenly, as you long as weren't a young girl or did not in any, oppose his rule,of course. Followed b the Scottish Government's disgraceful decision to release the principal instigator, Megrahi, of this violent episode, before he had completed his prison term.
Oh yes, Libya and Iraq must have been 'neat and tidy' places in which to live, as long as you didn't cross the path of these two monstrous thugs, of course.
