wind farms are the answer!, page-9

Does anyone at least find it strange there's no discussion/comment/reply to what are the absolute stand-outs here????

i.e. The fact that we have excess electricity supply on tap already and the fact that there is no actual gas shortage and so this will in turn keep prices steady locally and not go through the roof as many have been saying.

Second, yes I did use the LNG that was metred to the house, for heating only, back in the Illawarra and I'm on bottle gas now but have plans to switch everything over to watts. All I'll have on gas is the BBQ as do most and even that could change but that may be seen as being very un Australian lol

And your own link states that Hydro Tasmania is 'facing' projected losses of up to $20 million per year on power deals. Why, because of the uncertainty surrounding the Renewable Energy Target of 20% and all thanks to this Abbott govt and now the state has suspended new wind projects to the value of $3.6 billion and we have some here bantering on about the lack of job creation.

I mentioned earlier that with some added power generation down at King Island, Tasmania could in fact provide the equivalent of 1,000MW ($$$$$$) of zero-emissions baseload power generation for Victoria, removing the need for at least one of the giant brown coal generators (CO2 + nasties) in the Latrobe Valley. Now that was a counter argument to all this polluted air in China that someone keeps hammering on about but it's still not enough.

energiseme, we actually need not only our population to grow but some industry as well. We need this to take up the over-capacity of MW we currently have on hand and we need it like yesterday but I here we may be getting one of those recessions that we have to have, apparently

And dex, CSG presents very little opportunities to a disadvantaged region and especially the NR's area plus its actually advantageous to be disadvantaged so no need to go worrying with that one any more.

Now if this isn't the place to go drum beating the relevance's to this whole gas saga then where is please?

I think its the truth that's bothering some here myself.
