There's no doubt Abbott went way over the top with the $100 lamb roast, no more Whyalla etc etc. He didn't really need to exaggerate. He just needed to point to voters' electricity bills, which saw a huge rise, not entirely due to the carbon tax. It is strange how Gillard's broken promise on the carbon tax had such traction with voters when all other broken promises, including Abbott's, haven't.
At the end of the day though, I think it's delusional to think humans can control the climate, or even limit changes to the climate. Pollute less by all means, that's a must, but let's not pretend we can change the climate by doing so. With due respect to AGW believers and scientists, humans are no match for mother nature.
