    Lucky one, TBH and only IMO , I'd be very surprised indeed if it wasn't approved; demand for gas is massive as we know and near all our gas is to export and domestic supply is strangled .

    It's estimated that Australia has a reserve of about 1 trillion cubic metres of CSG , but through UCG it's estimated at about 12 trillion cubic meters.

    UCG targets deep coal seams coal seams uneconomical to be extracted commercially and converts this to syngas; UCG focus's on shallow reserves, hence UCG can continue on , in abandoned and exploited CSG fields, it's a bit of a Duracell bunny.

    With deeper seams you are also less likely to be in contact with aquifers, which is one of the main issues with CSG.

    In any case, one needs to understand the difference in the two processes, two very different processes indeed.
