Sadly, some posters just epitomize much of the reason why people ignore the scaremongering. Perhaps they could take up AGW lecturing. Elsewhere. It's one thing to have a view, as we're all entitled to, it's another to resist being a smart alec about it.
I take your point Tristanc that "concentration alone is not a good measure of effect" but the course that mjp2 kindly sent me is premised on the concentration of greenhouse gases as the cause of climate change (according to the syllabus). It suggests we need to tackle the causes of climate change by reducing the concentration of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. I haven't read any AGW proponent who doesn't believe that the concentration levels are the cause of AGW. It's what the entire AGW theory is based on.
