Yes, GCN offered free P1 shares provided you had a threshold number of GCN shares. This acted as a bait to buy GCN shares. GCN used the same ruse with FirstMongolian free shares, but I don't believe that anybody even got First Mongolian certificates.. Then nothing whatsoever happened regarding listing. Those episodes were a disgrace.
The fact that you haven't heard anything from P1 or CQA is discourteous, but IMO not necessarily sinister. Perhaps P1/CQA don't want to waste the postage in the event of ASIC not allowing their bidder's statement.
But vigilance is called for. The worst case scenario is that P1/CQA believe that those with GCN derived shares don't really exist - except as second-class citizens with no rights, whom they can therefore ignore.
I hope that you are able to recoup your current losses by selling P1 shares.
