Unlike Jermaine Jackson, the Chinese Madonna was not in the end tempted by the empty offers of GCN. What good has GCN brought for JJ over the last few months? Embarrasment, perhaps, but that is not good unless you believe that any publicity is good publicity. But then JJ is getting zilch publicity.

Resounding wins, unfortunately, for the predictions of naysayers 2.5 years ago. I find today's supporters rather colourless by comparison with the likes of Miranda and Toono. I noticed, on reading the thread again, that we are repeatedly given a monotonous lecture by the true believers of those times - that the past history of GCN is not a guide to its future - that the longer it fails the greater the chance that it will succeed. Even today we are expected to accept the argument that persistence in failure is a virtue.
