I agree with you. Union bashing is considered good sport these days.
I come from the pastoralist class so you would expect me to be anti union, but I'm not.
Unions were the way workers got some form of wage and condition justice.
Yes, the pendulum might have swung too far the union way at one stage, and there will always be a battle between workers wages and employers profits.
However, the basic idea of capitalism has proven itself. Reward produces supply of services and competition weeds out the inefficeient. But we need unions or government control to limit exploitation of workers and users of the service when demand far outstrips supply.
