Absolutely. They get in early in companies with potential & ride it with the right sort of events to take the SP higher.  

FARJOY's biggest windfall (amongst other things) was when they took control of New Hope Coal in the 70's with SoulPatt. GLR started there in 1980. NHC's IPO in 2003 was for 40c, opened at 62c with FARJOY holding 37mil in it. 11 yrs later they r still in it with 15.5mil shares with regular dividends (+ special divi's) & SP hikes to $6, along the way. Not a bad strategy.

Another FJ punt that's come off is 6mil odd in TPG telecom (again Soul Patt piggy back). Sadly 8.33mil in DTE (dart energy) r looking a bit low for now. So that's the FJ saga, deeper pockets, strategy or smart money.   

Their punt in FAR surely has come off from the looks of it.

With 128 mil traded over the last 3 days (wed-thu-fri), wonder what their holdings r now in FAR, prolly over 200+ mil by now.

Someone here could work out their average buy price in FAR. Ducks r all lined up with newsflow from Fan-1 & SNE-1 still to follow.
