I've been doing a bit of research on ore-sorters recently inregard to another company. I talking higher level than just on the internet, I've been talking to different manufacturers about ore, feed rates, testing etc, so I certainly know more than I did a few weeks ago.
Firstly getting the steinhart(sp?) to work well at 30tph is a terrific effort. So good in fact that I'm surprised theyv didn't stick with them and go the route of putting afew in a line.
Basically the smaller the feed the lower the rate an ore-sorter willv work at, with a fairly flat feed, thefrare will be lower than a 'cubic' feed.
Running a few ore-sorters each with a slightly different feed size via vibratory screens would be the best option. The ore-sorters work best with a constant feed size, so some ore sorters set up to do say 30-50mm sixe with others set to 50-75mm and still others at 75-100mm etc would be best. Having less of the larger sized ones as they will have a greater throughput in t/h.
.nyway, they should have know and prepared for all this a year or 2 ago as Janti has already suggested. The ore-sorter they have was never going to be able to do the job, and the experts at the mine would have known it years ago.
Questions about the ore-sorter, it's use and lack of preparedness of NCu for sale by at least a year ago, certainly should be pursued.
