I am not a great fan of hyperbole. So when I see a claim that the USD is "under pressure" (particularly when its price is rising sharply) I like to have a look at what is really going on.
If the USD was really "under pressure", I would expect to see a retreat from the foreign ownership of US Treasuries...

It turns out that the aggregrate foreign holding of US Treasuries increased by 7.2% between July 13 and July 14.
If the USD was really under pressure, that number should be falling.
