Not an issue IMO, as these sands should b easy to exploit via a extended reach wells.

Simply put u drill multiple wells from a single larger bore & control the trajectory of each well within the sand (like a pin cushion). Example is the Kosmos's Jubilee Field in Ghana where phase-1 drilling has 17 wells, ie 9 producers, 6 water injectors & 2 gas wells.  

Oil density at FAN-1 is good, it is not heavy or dead oil & was referred to as 'average' by Cath. Entirely upto Cairn & Conoco on how they want to fast track drilling the next Central Fan well. Its an exciting discovery & they need to tweak their model to firm up the resource estimates.

The MDT tool data should have given them the permeability, pressure etc, so they can identify the sweet spots in these sands.
