Fundamental Christians believe that the bible is the inspired word of God......Why do you think that there are soooo many people who, in spite of all the scientific evidence, believe that the world was created in 6 days only 6,000 years ago. We aren't talking about a handful of fringe dwelling lunatics here. There are professional educated intelligent people who actually believe this. A fair few here in Australia (look no further than Hillsong) but many many more in the USA. They believe this because they believe that the bible is the non-negotiable, unalterable inspired word of God.
RM, no one said that Islam doesn't have its fair share of lunatics. It's not hard to find a loop de loop Imam saying crazy stuff on you tube and then to present it here as anecdotal evidence that ALL Muslims are blood lusting maniacs......
........so as a little social experiment of my own I thought I would do a quick search on you tube to find some right wing Christian crazies to make the point. If I can find just two or three such videos then that must mean that all Christians are lunatics. That is the logic we are using here, isn't it?? The bible does say, after all, to let a matter be established in the mouth of two or three?? Well, I didn't have to search very hard. I was like a kid in a lolly shop. I quickly found myself in the proverbial Aladdin's cave among a vast and rich treasure of right wing Christian crazies. My biggest problem became which video to choose as my propaganda tool.....so many right wing Christian crazies....so little time.
I should clarify, for the record, that I am not anti-Christian and nor am I pro-Islamic. I have in fact studied and have great respect for the sacred writings of many religions. But the type of generalized discrimination like we have seen on HC against all Muslims is an abomination.
