Pete11, why don't you explain that to the families of the African Americans who were lynched by the Klu Klux Klan. What else was the Klan if not a ultra right wing terrorist organization with a sick and twisted take on Christianity. (not unlike how ISIL has a sick and twisted take on Islam). You know civilization has been around for ten thousand years and Christianity for 2000 years. Only one hundred and fifty years ago the USA, the greatest Christian nation that ever was, still had legalized slavery with legalized brutal treatment of the African slaves. Even after slavery was abolished African Americans were still legally second class citizens and were subjected to terrible acts by white "Christian" terror groups. It is only 50 years since the civil rights movement when the African American community won equal rights in a hard fought battle and after much spilling of blood.
In the west much has changed and is still changing since that time but before you go patting yourself on the back too much you want to consider that Christ walked the earth with his love and equality teachings 2000 years ago but it has taken the Christian west until 50 years ago to implement it. I will grant you that some sections of Islam are still to sort themselves out in that regard but instead of pointing the finger you should be saying "but for the grace of God there go I"
