There is no tax reason for writing down Ph 1 by $190
mil at this stage because LYC does not pay tax or is not
likely to pay tax because of its 12 year Malaysian tax
holiday.
So why do it?
And since LYC is not profitable so that a ROA is relevant, the
only logical reason for this write-down now is a LAMP sale.
