it's a two part pre-selection process - local members vote followed by central committee vote.
Crean won the local members vote so convincinly that Pakula has already pulled out and there will now be no central committee vote on Thursday.
If Crean had won narrowly they might have turned it over at head office but he romped in 190 to 88.
He was just on ABC calling for Stephen Conroy to resign as deputy leader of the upper house - he claimed that there are no repercussions for Beazley but that's just wishfull thinking and being the loyal party man. Beazley is dead man walking imho.
