Yesterdays Ton Ann;
"The primary focus for the Company going forward will be further definition of the high grade graphite zones and in particular the Mutola zone. This graphite-enriched quartz + carbonate zone has now been identified along the entire strike length of the Nicanda Hill deposit, some 5.6kms and is readily identifiable in drillcore and RC chips due to the textures and alteration.
Geological data obtained to date suggest that the hydrothermal Mutola Zone formed along either a primary sedimentological horizon or foliation plane leading to enrichment of graphite and vanadium"
"This Mineral Resource estimate contains numerous high-grade graphite zones (>15%TGC) that outcrop, including the key hydrothermal zone – named the Mutola zone (formerly HG1).
The Nicanda Hill deposit is overlain by a thin horizon of overburden sediments averaging 2 metres thick. Over Nicanda Hill itself, there is little if any overburden. The hills, which rise up to 100m above the surrounding plain, host part of the Mineral Resource on the western flank. The top 100m of the model, which rises above the adjacent topographic surface, reports approximately 150Mt of graphitic carbon at an average grade of 11.1%TGC."
Maybe closer similarities of flake may come of metallurgy direct from Ton's Mutola Zone?
Ton's Highest Grade Zone within the table is only reported to 200m depth. Syrah's are reported to 300m, of Syrahs Initial 7 year mine target of 19% tgc only 5.0Mt is contained within the first 100m depth. They then project moving onto the Mepiche Zone at Balama East of 34.32Mt of contained Graphite @ 16% TGC at a cut off of 13% TGC of which roughly only 13Mt is contained within the first 100m depth. Possible indication of that said Granite intrusions causing complications as it is reported 30m thickness in areas?
Ton Mining a Hill 100m in height of surrounding levels may contribute greater to economics than a percentage within a given flake size?
Cobra Plains reference yet again ddzx? Please accept that new met work on the Nicanda Hill target area has superseded the cobra plains lab disaster where they pulverised the samples.
