cerhob, I am well aware of Kevin Rudd's personal failings and trust me I'm not a fan. But either side of politics would have Satan himself as PM if it meant they could stay in power. Remember, Rudd got the gig as PM because the carefully created public persona appealed to the masses. Labor no doubt would have been aware of his personality flaws as he had already been in Labor circles for years. The truth is that the government gets the blame for e-v-e-r-t-h-i-n-g. The whole world was collapsing and Australia is just a tiny fish in a big ocean. But that is not the way the electorate will ever see it.
